Chulalongkorn Hosptial Children’s day Activity
Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all the darkness. Desmond Tutu
On the 12th of January, 10 volunteers from iCare Thailand Foundation celebrated Children’s Day with 110 children at Chulalongkorn Hospital. Of the children there, 65 were in perfect health, having been abandoned at the hospital at birth, and the other 45 were there for treatment for a wide range of diseases, most very serious and some of them terminal.
Despite the pain and difficulties they are suffering the children joined in the games, activities, and drama enthusiastically. It was so wonderful to hear them laugh and enjoy themselves and to laugh right along with them. Our volunteers spent time talking with the children and the parents who were there, interacting with and encouraging each of them.
Of course, Children’s Day wouldn’t have been complete without a special treat for them: their favorite noodle and meatball soup, followed by ice-cream for all. While there, we delivered THB 50,000 worth of supplies to facilitate the care and education of the children at Chulalongkorn Hospital.
Thank you for helping us to bring joy and encouragement to these wonderful children!
